Islam and the West…Can They Co-Exist (video)

A thought provoking evening sponsored by a New York Chapter of ACT regarding “Islam, the Koran, Sharia and the West…Can they co-exist?”.

(Part 1) Speaking on Muslim immigration, assimilation, the Constitution and Islam is Lawrence Auster.

(Part 2) Speaking on Theology and Islam is Andrew Bieszad.

(Part 3) The Q and A that followed their individual presentations. TAKE NOTE: don’t hesitate to use your own speaker controls to adjust levels. There were different levels in the room. Video is pumped up, but you may want to also control it yourself.

(video) John Stewart,the Prez and his Most Amazing Totus-Tour

Stewart waxes on about “Zero” and his “poo-poo- patch”…

The Communicator-in-Chief: Has teleprompters will travel (to your local elementary school) LOL!

UPDATE: Things Change

We did notice the difference in the background…  a clue that Obama had possibly changed class-rooms … the video of the audience looked  like the press was now down front and not the kids.

So, POTUS didn’t make the kids sit through a five minute stump-speech BUT, and this is the BUT that jumps out from the background, the kid-drawings on the wall in tandem with TOTUS…. that’s a bit like watching a turkey lose it’s head while Sara was talking to a reporter.  Some things are just way too ridiculous to ignore (and you know what I’m talkin’ about)

~~~~~~~                                 ~~~~~~~~~~~                       ~~~~~~
The great communicator? You’ve got to be kidding me!
02
He places a WALL of teleprompters ( and SPEAKERS) between himself and the kids in the classroom. This is a 6th grade class at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va.
O1
Okayokayokayokay…so he’s shaking some hands as he walks in… “workin’ the crowd”.  But, the teleprompters?! They only reinforce what a cold, impersonal and distant man-of-the people he really is. (Think this’ll get a lot of media play?)
NYC City Council Musical Chairs (when the music stopped Charles Barron had nowhere to sit!)
The Council’s New Order
The City Council played its own political game of musical chairs Thursday.
And when the music stopped, Councilmember Charles Barron had nowhere to sit.
On Thursday, the City Council voted 47 to 1 to appoint new leadership, new committee chairs and new committee members, which shuffled freshmen and seniors from influential posts to ceremonial ones and vice versa.
Of the council’s 13 new members, six will chair influential standing committees, and five received a leadership position on one of the council’s subcommittees.
Third term council members Leroy Comrie of Queens and Domenic Recchia of Brooklyn landed the council’s most prominent and influential chairmanships, land use and finance, respectively.
Controversially, Barron, who had chaired the council’s Higher Education Committee since he joined the council in 2002, was stripped of his position.
Barron attributed his demotion to the fact that he was the only member to challenge Christine Quinn this month for City Council speaker. Quinn was re-elected by a vote of 48 to 1, with Barron dissenting. Known for speaking up at council meetings, Barron compared Quinn to a “dictator,” arguing he was being punished for his so-called independence.
“This to me is an abuse of power. It’s very divisive, said Barron. “You want to remove me because I’m an ineffective chair. You can’t do that,” Barron added, saying he has held 80 hearings.
During the meeting, Barron went over his allotted two-minute comment period, and council officials proceeded to turn off his microphone.
Late last year, during a press conference at the ground breaking of Fiterman Hall, a long-vacant CUNY building that was damaged in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Barron clashed with CUNY Trustee Jeffrey S. Wiesenfeld.
The incident could have been a factor in his demotion.
When asked about the decision, Quinn said, “I did not reappoint Councilmember Barron as chair of the Higher Education Committee because I believe it’s very important to have committee chairs that are unifying forces.”
Freshman Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez has taken Barron’s place.
Committees as Political Power
Wrangling over committee chair positions has become a pastime for the council. Some argue the quarreling arises from members’ pet issues, while others point to the hefty stipends, known as lulus, attached to every chair position. For instance, by chairing land use and serving as deputy majority leader, Comrie adds $20,000 to his $112,500 salary.
Many also say the chair positions are rewards for those who are loyal to the speaker — a.k.a. not Barron. Standing committee chairmanships earn council members an extra $10,000, while subcommittee chairmanships are worth $4,000.
Quinn, who selects all of the new chairs, earns $28,500 for her position as the council leader.
As for the more influential positions, Councilmember James Vacca has taken over now-Comptroller John Liu’s position on the Transportation Committee, Councilmember Elizabeth Crowley now heads up the Fire and Criminal Justice Committee, and Councilmember Letitia James has taken over the sanitation committee.
Freshman Councilmember Karen Koslowitz, who served in the council in the 1990s and was elected again this fall, took her previous position as chair of the Consumer Affairs Committee.
None of the council’s five Republicans received a chairmanship.
The only other veteran member who did not receive a standing committee chairmanship was Vincent Gentile of Brooklyn. He kept his position as chair of the libraries select committee.
“I am pleased to be able to continue to work with libraries, and I think libraries are of particular interest to Speaker Quinn,” said Gentile, who cast several votes against the majority in the last term, including on congestion pricing and term limits.
Freshman Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer of Queens will head the committee that oversees the libraries subcommittee — the Cultural Affairs, Libraries and International Intergroup Relations Committee.
Appointing chairs from certain boroughs can also be used to curry favor with county party bosses.
This year, both Brooklyn and Queens received 11 standing committee chairmanships.
This week, Citizens Union, the sister organization to Gotham Gazette’s publisher, released a report card calling for the end of the council stipend system, saying it only supports the “boss-driven system of government.”
(New) Coptic Christians Protest at UN and Egyptian Consulate (Part 1)
The Coptic Christian Community gathered in front of the UN and the Egyptian Consulate  from Noon to 4 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. They gathered to protest the genocide of their people, Coptic Christians; a genocide that continues unabated in Egypt. The world…as America… ignores their cries.
DSCN2287 dp
There were thousands who filled the streets, too many for the barricades, so eventually the police asked the protesters to walk to 47th street. There was a very peaceful procession. A  very impressive protest.
Can you hear them now!!!
DSCN2084 dp
The Christian Copts need our help.
DSCN2186 dp
DSCN2239 dp
Their churches are burned. Their homes terrorized. Their daughters kidnapped and raped by the Muslims of Egypt.
DSCN2150 dp
And if not murdered, they are forced to convert to Islam never to see their families again.
DSCN2290 dp
DSCN2100 dp 3
It is time for America, for President Obama to demand that President Mubarak end this genocide.
DSCN2130 dp
DSCN2292 dp
Where is the American press? Where is the UN? Again…Where is our President?
DSCN2260 dp
DSCN2091dp
Bowing to the Muslim world and ignoring the cries of these people who are begging to be allowed to live without fear. To worship as Christians without fear.
DSCN2134 dp
Our media relishes covering anti-Israel and anti-American rallies and ignores the desperate pleas of the Copts.
DSCN2143 dp 2
This is an outrage.
DSCN2308 dp
DSCN2232 dp
Listening to the genuine heart-wrenching and desperate pleas of the Coptics there is no comparison to the studied and practiced anti-Israel and anti-American rallies that the press seems to love.
DSCN2141 dp
DSCN2220 dp
The rallies of the anti-Israel leftists are always dispassionate and arrogant;  demanding the creation of a ‘peaceful palestine’ while demanding  the destruction of Israel. Anti-American to the core. Which  is so NOT the case of the Coptic Christians.
DSCN2243 dp
Ignorance is the trump card that allows this Coptic genocide to continue with no world wide up-roar.
DSCN2242 dp
When it comes to saving the Coptics of Egypt, what happened to the mantra of the Left… we are all one-world…we are all global-citizens.
DSCN2149 dp
It is time to stop the murder of Christians. Save the Coptic Christians. Stop the genocide!
From NewsMax: Allen West: GOP Should Follow MLK’s Principles
Mon, 18 Jan 2010 07:39 PM
By: John Rossomando
Republicans need to follow the example of Martin Luther King Jr. and return to their basic principles if they plan to win big in this year’s midterm elections, says Lt. Col Allen West, a retired Iraq and Afghanistan veteran who is challenging Democratic Rep. Ron Klein in Florida’s 22nd congressional district.
West used King’s birthday as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the slain civil rights leader’s belief in the importance of character and to critique the mentality that many black leaders have instilled.
“I think we need to be very careful about losing the sense of individualism, and when you look at this collective progressive mentality that has turned the black community into victims and dependent upon the government,” West, who himself is black, told Newsmax TV’s Kathleen Wolter and Ashley Martella.
~~
See Video: Allen West says the GOP should follow the example set by Martin Luther King Jr.
~~~
West says many black clergy hold conservative values such as the need for self-reliance and personal responsibility, and believe in traditional family values even if they don’t self-identify as conservatives.

“It is just a matter of us connecting and getting them to contrast between liberal principles of victimization and conservative principles of empowerment,” he said.

Republicans, he says, can reclaim the trust that many blacks, including Martin Luther King Jr., gave them by emphasizing the heritage of defending their rights going back to that party’s 1854 foundation and not by trying to be all things to all people.

The GOP pioneered civil rights for blacks through the passage of the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the U.S. constitution.

“The first congressmen of this country that were black congressmen were congressmen of the Republican Party,” West said. “Then you contrast that with the segregation laws, the Jim Crow laws and the founding of the Ku Klux Klan, which was the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.”

He said it took Republicans such as late Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen of Illinois to pass the 1964 Civil Rights Act in spite of Southern Democrats such as Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.V., who tried killing it.

“Go back to what you stand for, and the community will come back to you,” West said. “What we need to establish in our culture is a sense of individual responsibility and move away from victimization.”

West also said the GOP leadership needs to move away from “leadership by entitlement” and find people who will defend limited government, the free market and other traditional values.

The Sounds of “We Are Change” on a Winter’s Night (in Times Square)WS

Times Square. January 18, 2010. MLK Day. Approximately 6:15 PM. It’s a Federal Holiday and foot-traffic is light at 46th and Broadway. People must be eating or at home…or whatever…but the smallish crowd made it easier to see the oddity called, “We Are Change”.

Only had my cell phone. Have to remind myself that in Manhattan there’s always going to be surprises and today was no exception.

CIMG0020

Four megaphones (one quite large) and it seemed liked five video-graphers (going round and round) as their barkers worked the crowd . They had  many ‘diverse’ themes and platitudes (like this one)…

CIMG0022

Asked the two cops standing to the side what was going on? Did these guys really have a sound permit?

CIMG0043

Not so sure they really did as the cops carefully informed me they themselves had not seen the Sound Permit, but their boss did. (But, he was no where around.) No barriers. No extra police (although two extra patrol cops arrived while I was there).

CIMG0045

So, WHO (and WHY) give them a sound permit for this location? Now that Bloomberg and Sadik-Kahn have turned Times Square in to a Euro-Mall….South of 42nd St…that’s where sound-permits are placed.

Here’s a hint: once the “Changers” announced that “Free Speech” was still alive ( the police were not able to infringe upon their free-speech) well…I think we can all interpret that as “No Sound Permit”.

CIMG0053

An hour and 20 minutes later, they were still barking and working the crowd and the few police were just hanging around.

CIMG0139

Think we could expect those same “Free Speech” rights in support of Israel or our troops or how about the protest against the civilian trial for KSM?? What IS IT with our police and the anarchists?

CIMG0137

The confused public either laughs, shakes their head or keep on walking as the “Changers” are so committed to being funny first (message last). Guess that’s a good thing…

CIMG0079

A guy hawking tickets for a comedy club was yelling, “Comedy Show, get your tickets to a Comedy show” as the “changers” did their spiel (I enjoyed that.)

Do the “Changers”  take anything seriously or are they just ‘in it’ for the entertainment value. They seemed more like an improve group than a serious protest.

CIMG0057

Here’s what I can remember of their public “out-reach”

Can I give you a Hug.

Smile. It’s Okay to smile.

Don’t be afraid to take a flyer from that person. Even though your name will be given to the FBI….that’s okay.

There are no Jihadis.

There’s no Al Qeada.

9-11 was an inside job.

Bush and Obama are the same.

Why did Building 7 mysteriously collapse late at night when it wasn’t hit by a plane? Huh?

End the Fed.

Obama is a puppet of the banks.

(From the black speaker in their crowd)
I voted for Obama.

Our first black President (well he’s half white, says he)

Knew I made a mistake within two weeks.

Others would chime in: This isn’t about Republican or Democrat.

(He continued with) Our Constitution is in shambles.

Founding Fathers would be horrified.

They didn’t support a National Bank.

He knows they didn’t write the Constitution with his ‘black ass’ in mind, but he still believes in a supports our Constitution.

Obama is a liar.

He managed to have a ‘conversation’ via the megaphones with another ‘changer’. He’d say a negative about Obama and the white guy would say a positive. Definitely a comedy sketch.

Then out came a big McD’s coffee board (ya think they STOLE it?) As they went off on McD’s (for a LONG time)

CIMG0056

Get your free coffee.

Be sure to eat lots of McDonald’s food.

Don’t be a vegetarian.

Sock a vegetarian.

Ignore us, listen to lots of TV…ABC,NBC,CBS.

Sit down in front of the TV and go to sleep. Stay asleep.

This went on with very short breaks. After all, there were 4 megaphones. That way, one guy rested and another guy would take over. The younger crowd passing by would run up and get the free-hugs they were offering (after all” Love is the Answer”)

CIMG0119 dp

A couple of the women went over to the police cars and chatted up the cops (“Changers” are very nice, friendly people, after all) Some of their signs:

Do you have a dream.

Love is the answer.

9-11 was an inside job

Everything is okay

More spiel:

The police and our military have been tricked. They get killed for lies.

Everyone is a victim of the government’s lies.

“First Responders” verify 9-11 was an inside job.

Leading with a mocking question: Nine members of the Saudi Royal Family didn’t get help…right after 9-11…right? Then “Don’t worry, everything is okay”.

The mocking tone is their style as they called out to people, to families as they were taking pictures in Times Square. Definitely confusing them. “Don’t worry. Everything’s okay.”

There are no Jihadis..

No Al Qaeda.

And don’t worry about those scanners at the airport. They can’t really see you naked.

Used their well-rehearsed time very efficiently. Each theme would be a long-winded riff before they would switch to another topic of derision. Just wondering here, but why would anyone be interested in a sell like that? Certainly not the older passers-by.

Changers did a “commercial” for “We are Change” at one point. Said, “This message is brought to you by…” ( so cute) and closed their commercial with, “It’s all of about Love. If we would just love each other there would be no wars”.

Just wondering (again) Is this the same group that “sort of” has a connection to Niko Haupt, the jumper at the Dec 5 protest against the KSM trial in NY?. (video is a refresher if you missed Niko the first time)

I hear they don’t ‘love’ Niko. That Niko is too weird for these bizarros? (Go figure…. )

Do the changers actually believe in anything? Or is life just one big ‘yoke’. They’re all young…well…maybe not this young.(The next generation in training here? Though she’s looking a tad doubtful)

CIMG0135 dp

Maybe we should be asking, “Is this a result of our colleges? Believe in everything…Believe in nothing.”

CIMG0111

In closing, this is from their website. The end of the mission statement which reinforces how bizarre thy are,

“As we establish citizens groups throughout the country and world, we wish to inspire a community of truth-seekers and peacemakers through creative campaigns with a commitment of nonviolence. We Are Change is not so much a group but an idea, an idea that “We the People” are the vehicles of these “ideas” and of the freedoms, liberties, and truths we are seeking all across the globe. An idea that captures the spirits of our forefathers who just desired freedom; that together, as residents of this planet, we grow like a snowball of truth and justice rolling down a mountain of tyranny growing bigger and stronger, recognizing the beauty in our differences and the diverseness of each other, but at the same time strengthening our cause because we learn and grow from each others individuality. Then as we learn to come together, that as one, you, me, him, her, us…will realize that WE ARE CHANGE.

(I’d say LOL but it’s really not that funny)

Washingtoons from Lt Col Allen B. West: “One Year down, Three to Go”

16 January 2010

“One Year down, Three to Go”

Greetings fellow riders, South Floridians, and indeed America, time for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road (WOTR) political assessment.

Next week on Tuesday, 19 January 2010, will mark one year since Barack Hussein Obama became President of the United States of America. I figured it would be appropriate for us to do a one year assessment of dear fearful leader and think of what the following three years could represent for America under the Obama regime….oops, I mean administration.

The first thing that comes to mind as we begin this analysis is the interesting event which shall occur on 19 January 2010, Senate special election in the State, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The election is to replace the deceased Senator Ted Kennedy. Funny thing happening up there, Republican candidate Scott Brown is virtually neck and neck with Democrat Martha Coakley…….yes, in Massachusetts….and look Martha, this fella from Georgia spelled your State correctly!

This comes on the heels of two major gubernatorial losses last year in November 2009 by the Dems, Virginia and New Jersey. Of course we were told it had nothing to do with the radical leftist liberal agenda of President Obama and his cronies in Congress.

As Lee Corso says on ESPN College Gameday, I miss college football, “Not so fast my friend”.

This administration has taken an already huge deficit and tripled it in just a year due to the first debacle, an $800B stimulus plan. We all remember being told last year that passing this President’s stimulus plan would mean that unemployment would remain below 8%. Well, by the end of 2009 we were at 10% and here in the State of Florida we are over 11%. The actual hard numbers for unemployment are estimated to be around 17%.

Don’t forget, the black community which voted 98% for Obama now has an estimated 20% unemployment…….change you can believe in?

Due to insane fiscal policies emanating from the Treasury Secretary, a known tax cheat, our dollar is falling. We continue to do the three things history, and sound economics teaches, say you do not do; print more money, borrow more money, and raise taxes. Of course this is all because the Obama, Pelosi, and Reid triumvirate have to grow the entitlement class in order to maintain their hold on power. Sure, they will say we have had growth, but increasing the number of jobs in the federal government does not relate to economic growth of America….and how many staffers does Michele Obama have?

And who is paying these 35 or so czars?

We witnessed for the first time in my life a private sector CEO being fired by a US President. I thought that was the job of the company Board of Directors and shareholders? The federal government now controls our banking sector, and has demonized them terribly, some to their own just desserts. The federal government has controlling interest in the automobile industry, along with unions.

Of all the issues to tackle in America, the Obama administration along with an inept, incompetent, and corrupt Congressional leadership and members decided that healthcare was their priority. They have unleashed bills of enormous size; 2000-3000 pages of bloated Capitol Hill geek speak meant to confuse the American people. The result, another big government grab at 1/6 of our national production, and our lives. Just gotta tell you all, running against a Pelosi puppet like Congressman Ron Klein just makes life a little easier! Keep up that Pelosi voting record Ronnie.

In the past year we have seen the Obama crew sailing all over the world promoting American values and traditions, way wrong answer.

Matter of fact, this President was the first in 110 years to not attend the traditional Army-Navy game. The graduating seniors from Annapolis were not allowed to carry their ceremonial swords; President Obama was the graduation speaker. And we had the opportunity to see on two occasions our President take the subservient position of bowing.

It was just pathetically appalling to watch an American President parade all over the world apologizing for the exceptionalism of our Republic, town hall meetings in Europe and China….why?. However, it was even more disturbing to watch the submissive nature of this President before the Turkish National Assembly and at a University in Cairo. These speeches certainly projected weakness and a dhimmi (submissive) attitude to the clear and present dangerous totalitarian ideology which threatens our Nation and its interests.

Remember, his first telephone call as President was to Mahmoud Abbas, his first interview was with Al Arabiya, and his first Executive order was to close GITMO and be nicer to terrorists. Let us analyze the result of this behavior.

How many missiles did North Korea shoot off? Afghanistan this year witnessed its highest numbers of casualties for our Men and Women. Iran has certainly been cooperative with their nuclear program development, how many deadlines have passed?

We have thwarted islamic terrorist attacks coming out of North Carolina, a potential suicide car bomber in Dallas, and a potential bombing attack with plastic explosives in New York. In Dearborn Michigan there was a shootout with a converted radical muslim imam. We saw a young convert to islam, Carlos Bledsoe, shoot two US Soldiers outside a Little Rock recruiting station, killing one.

I, nor should anyone else forget Major Malik Nidal Hassan and his terrorist attack at Ft Hood Texas resulting in the death of 14 Americans and 30 wounded. Of course President Obama advised us to not rush to any conclusions….hmm, firing on unarmed American Soldiers and civilians shouting “Allahu Akhbar”. We surely do not want to be accused of “acting stupidly” now do we?

And where is that doggone captured Somali pirate? Someone told me they saw him partying with Derek Jeter after the Yankees won the World Series.

All this and we still want to offer illegal enemy combatants US Constitutional rights and legal proceedings because it will demonstrate how “nice” we are. We want to close GITMO because it is the number one terrorist recruiting tool?

So did the young Nigerian terrorist from Christmas Day travel to Yemen and get all “bombed up” because he did not like GITMO? Oh yea, he is an “alleged” terrorist since we have read him his Miranda rights and gotten him all “lawyered up” for his day in court.

Stupid me, I thought Miranda rights were for US citizens.

Amazing when you think of it, radical islamists give their guys training, guns, RPGs, dull knives to hack off heads, and bombs……. and we give them lawyer.

We are no longer fighting a war, just an “overseas contingency operation”. There are no longer terrorist attacks, that is a nuance…..they are “man caused disasters”.

In December, I appeared on the Sean Hannity show and was asked to grade the President. I responded, failing. If anyone can change my mind, please try, bring facts, not illogical emotional diatribe such as “he has improved our standing in the world”. Or as Sean Penn stated, “it is wonderful to have an elegant President”…LOL LOL Hey Sean, it would be better to have a President who could say “Good Morning” without a teleprompter and keep our Country safe.

Lastly, in his victory speech in November 2008, President Barack Hussein Obama stated, “Chicago is coming to DC”. It certainly has, with all its closed door dealings and corruption…..just like the recent deal made with the unions reference taxing healthcare insurance plans.

No, President Obama is not the global leader which so many touted him to be. His foray into manmade climate change drew a big laugh from God, especially as we were down here in South Florida a week ago shivering from 30 degree temperatures for close to a week.

These are just a few reasons why a year after Obama’s inauguration a Republican is within the “margin of cheating” to win a Senate seat in the State of Massachusetts….and why Congressman Ron Klein will not be Nancy Pelosi’s puppet after 2 November 2010. The people of Florida’s 22d Congressional district will have one of their own, an old school American as their Representative.
