On Feb 24, 2010, the Henrietta Wells Livermore School of Politics (Host Committee), Manhattan Republican Community Coalition, New York Urban League Young Professionals, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. / Alpha Gamma Lambda Chapter  and distinguished panelists came together to tackle important issues during Black History Month at the third annual Black Forum 2010.

This year’s bi-partisan forum focused on Employment, Business, Education, Health Care and Crime, not just politics and Community outreach with a broad and diverse audience in attendance. There were two panels. Each Panel is posted in  10 minute segments.

Panel 1 can be found here in six parts.  Panel 2 is in seven parts

Obama’s Ersatz Church: Launching Pad For A Catholic Bashing Presidential Appointee?

President Obama’s former church in Chicago reveals that no baptism is required and Muslims are accepted as full members.

Obama’s Ersatz Church:  Launching Pad For A Catholic Bashing Presidential Appointee?

By Online: Madeline Brooks Friday, February 26, 2010

Where is the baptism certificate? We do not see one because there was no baptism.  That central part of Christianity was not required at Obama’s former church, the Trinity United Church of Christ, during the years Obama attended while he lived in Chicago (1988 – 2008).  Obama has not attended another church with any frequency since then. In addition, there was no necessary renunciation of his prior faith, Islam, because in the Trinity United Church of Christ one can be both a Muslim and a member.

The disquieting discovery that baptism was not customary and that unreconstructed Muslims were members of Obama’s former church was made by a Christian evangelist, Pastor Dakdok.  He grew up in Egypt in a Christian family, the son of a pastor, and lived under the heel of Muslim oppression.  Now a U.S. citizen, Pastor Dakdok has a two-fold mission: offering the message of Christian salvation to everyone, including Muslims, and warning America about the evils of encroaching Islamic fundamentalism.

Back in September 2008, Pastor Dakdok thought that Obama might be a Muslim posing as a Christian, just based on his names, all three of which are Muslim.  Yet Obama was presenting himself as a Christian.  What was the truth?  Pastor Dakdok did some research.

He called the United Trinity Church of Christ and questioned an official about membership in the church.  See Thestraightway.org (Part 8).

“Do I have to be baptized to join the church?” asked Pastor Dakdok.
“No, you don’t,” was the answer. “You can be a member without being baptized.”

“And what exactly is required to become a member?”
“You attend two Sunday school classes in a row about membership, and then you walk the aisle.”

Then came the killer question.

“If I am a Muslim man, and I believe in the prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, but I also believe in the prophet Jesus, do I have to give up my Islamic faith to join your church?”  The shocking answer was, “Absolutely not!  We have so many members of our church who are Muslims.”

“Is that how Senator Barack Obama became a member?” Pastor Dakdok queried.
The membership director refused to answer.

So Muslims are welcome members of a Christian church! This is unheard of and theologically impossible. The doctrines are incompatible.  Also, keep in mind that a Muslim would not want to join a religious organization that insisted Christ was the way to salvation and that all other religious practices should be abandoned.  It would be a betrayal of his Muslim beliefs. The only way a so-called Christian church can accept Muslims as members—not visitors, not guests—is to have teachings that disregard or even deny core Christian beliefs.

I called the Trinity United Church of Christ and they confirmed that baptism is merely optional for members. This is truly an odd practice since the World Council of Churches has twice declared the centrality of baptism for a Christian, in 1982 and again in 1997.  The Council notes that no matter how much churches may differ in other ways, the vast majority of churches agree on the importance of baptism. Baptism is seen as necessary for salvation in the New Testament.  Christ commands, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved” (Mark 16:15-16). Peter also connects baptism with repentance in Acts 2:38.

The Trinity United Church of Christ began to welcome members of the Nation of Islam at a time when its membership was faltering and its identity was up for grabs. Starting in 1960, when Malcolm X made Chicago the headquarters for the Nation of Islam, the black pride movement became widespread among African Americans in the area.  Obama’s former church opened itself up to members of the Nation of Islam based on racial identification, along with its anti-white, anti-American, and anti-Jewish ideologies.  Accepting such negative values was an accommodation to an irreconcilable and hostile theology that continues to this day, undermining whatever basic spiritual Christian doctrines the Trinity United Church of Christ had before.  Compromising standard tenets of the Christian faith could easily explain why the Trinity United Church of Christ accepts Muslims as unconverted members and why Obama himself could still be a Muslim.

For many years, Jeremiah Wright served as pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ. We have all been saturated with reports of Wright’s praise for Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, and Wright’s damning of America.  But we may not have known how deep was Wright’s deviance from what we can call ‘normal’ Christianity, as the findings made by Pastor Dakdok and myself indicate.  For twenty years, Obama sat at the feet of Jeremiah Wright, drinking in the pastor’s words, choosing him to perform his marriage and even referring to him as “uncle.”

President Obama appointed Larry Knox, a gay rights activist, to the Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in April, 2009.  At the time of his appointment, Knox called the Catholic Church “morally reprehensible” for spreading “blatant falsehoods” because it takes a stand against the use of condoms to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.  Additionally, Knox has stated that the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic group, are part of a “discredited army of oppression” for following the traditional Christian understanding that marriage is between a man and a woman, which rules out homosexual marriage.  Recently Knox re-gained the media spotlight by reaffirming his disrespect for the Catholic Church.

Knox, not only lacks the ecumenical objectivity to coordinate different religions;  he speaks like a bigot. So much for Obama’s declared goal of bringing people together harmoniously in spite of their differences.

Whatever one may think personally of the Catholic Church’s policies, for a presidential appointee to publically call them “morally reprehensible” is destructive. Given the disdain for mainstream Christianity that Obama has shown in his earlier choice of churches, and his dubious standing as a Christian at all, one can only wonder what undermining of popular American values will come next from our President Obama.

Member Adam Kokesh Gives A First-Hand Account

Yesterday, the IVAW German Expeditionary Team conducted its first on base action. Our host, Jurgen Wangler, drove the four of us to the US Army base in Ansbach. At the gate, we deployed Team 1, Chris Capps and Thomas Cassidy. Jurgen turned the car around and we watched as Chris used his military ID to get him and Tom on base.

Then Jurgen parked around the corner, and we deployed Team 2, Jeff Englehart and myself. When we got to the gate, the guard said that I couldn’t bring Jeff on with me because I was not registered in their system, even though I had a valid military ID. Jeff busted out the perfect story, “We’re backpacking around Europe, and we just wanted to come on base to use the PX. I just need to get some toiletries. See, I used to be in the Army too, but my ID is expired.” The guard suggested Jeff give me a list and wait for me. So I carried on alone.

Chris and Tom walked to the chow hall together, and got in line. While waiting in line, Tom had an awkward moment when he noticed that he was standing between two groups of soldiers he had met the night before at the Ansbach Spring Fest. They said, “What’s up?” and that was it. They paid and went through the chow line separately, then sat on opposite sides of the biggest room in the chow hall. When I got in, I saw Tom sitting at a table with a soldier and pretended that running into him was a coincidence. “Do you mind watching my gear while I get some chow? Anything good here?”

I got my chow and sat down next to him. The big screen TV in the corner was tuned to the Armed Forces Network, official TV station of the US military. It just so happened to be showing the O’Reilly Factor, and he was saying something about the “left wing hate machine” cranking up to slander Jerry Falwell right after his death. I made some offhand remark, and the soldier started talking about how much he hates O’Reilly.

I got up and put my tray onto the conveyor belt, then came back to Tom who did the same. Then it was time. I gave him the flyers from Jeff’s bag and walked to the far side of the room next to Chris. The flyers were just copies of this letter and the standard IVAW flyers. I said, in my commanding Marine Corps voice, “Can I have everyone’s attention please?” The room went silent and while Chris filmed, I read the following:

My name is Adam Kokesh and I am a former Marine and veteran of the occupation of Iraq. I am in Ansbach with the Ansbach Peace Coalition and I am here to deliver a message from the people of Ansbach:

May 17, 2007

To the American soldiers stationed in Ansbach,

The people of Ansbach support you, and you are welcome as always in our city. As we have always said, Americans are always welcome in Germany, just leave your guns at home.

As you know, twenty five hundred American Soldiers will soon be leaving this base to support the occupation of Iraq. Because of this, and the proposed expansion of this base, we are speaking out in opposition of the policies of the US government. But we want to make it clear that we stand in solidarity with the individual troops who are asked to sacrifice for the execution of these policies.

This Saturday, the 19th at 1430, we will have a demonstration in the middle of Ansbach to protest the use of German soil in the ongoing occupation of Iraq.

On Sunday, the 20th at 1700, we will be at the Shlossplatz praying for the victims of the war in Iraq. We pray for the people of Iraq, and the American servicemen who have died serving your country.

On Wednesday the 23rd at 1700 we will be at the gates of this base to protest the expansion of the base and the upcoming deployment.

Last August, the US Army announced its plans to expand this base and close off the road that runs through it. This would double the number of helicopters training here that wake us up in the middle of the night. This would also entail the theft of the land of local farmers, and necessitate that another road be built at the expense of the German taxpayers.

On Thursday the 24th, at 1000 during your farewell ceremony, we will be holding a vigil at the gates of this base to pray for your safe return.

You are all invited to join us this Friday for a beer at the Kammerspiele on Maximillian Street near the Gazebo at 1900. Please come meet with us to discuss the issues before us in a relaxed atmosphere.

Again, we support you, the troops who serve their country with honorable intentions to provide for your national defense, but we oppose the policies of the US Government that do nothing to defend America. If any of you should decide to leave the Army while in Germany and throw down your arms, the people of Ansbach will support you and do our best to provide you with aid, comfort, and sanctuary. We wish to build a new relationship between the people of Germany and the people of America on the basis of peace, reconciliation, and understanding.

Thank you,

The People of Ansbach

While I was reading the letter, an E-7 in ACUs came up to me and nearly whispered, “Can you stop reading that, please?” But I just ignored him and kept reading. Then he asked to see my ID and I kept reading. Then he walked away to harass Tom, who was “handling the literature.” The E-7 asked him how he got on post, and if he could see his ID, to which Tom gleefully replied, “No, I don’t think so.” The E-7 then made a few weak grabs at him and the flyers, which he ducked.

When I finished, I walked out into the entryway looking for Tom, who had been busy on the officers’ side of the chow hall. While Tom and Chris ducked out, an MP (Military Police) came in and one of the civilians working at the chow hall pointed me out to him. “Is everything alright, sir?” To which I replied, “Yeah, I’m cool.” Then walked out.

I saw Chris and Tom ahead of me on the sidewalk. They were being followed by the same E-7 that had harassed us earlier. After a few seconds, the group of soldiers walking behind him noticed that he had grabbed the wrong hat and was wearing one with a PFC’s insignia. He mumbled a weak excuse and kept following Tom and Chris. When they got to the gate, they were able to convince the German private security guard to give them Tom’s passport right before the E-7 tried to stop them. Tom grabbed it and ran down the street.

I saw the scuffle, and thought I should try to disassociate myself. I kept walking straight past the gate when the First Sergeant who was following me finally decided to let me know that he was actually following me. “Hey, you! Where are you going?” “Cash sales.” “You need to get out of here.” By then the civilian from the chow hall had caught up with us and was pointing at me. Since Tom and Chris had gotten through, I just kept walking to the gate. As I got to the security guard standing in the pedestrian passageway, the soldiers behind me started yelling. “Hey, stop that guy!” “Hey, you need to detain him!” “Stop him!” The security guard told me to stop and I just kept walking. He grabbed my sleeve, but didn’t even hold on. I turned the corner and just kept walking. I looked back and the First Sergeant was there watching me, but by then I was home free. Jurgen swung around the corner and I jumped in the car. As Chris passed the gate with his driver, the First Sergeant was left standing outside the gate, shaking his fist at the car with a look of perturbed confusion on his face.

A video of the action can be seen here…. THE COWARDS REMOVED THE KOKESH VIDEO (LOL)

Washingtoons, 18 February 2010. Lt. Col. Allen West: “They’re Running”

Washingtoons

18 February 2010

Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Retired)

“They’re Running”

Greetings Wheels on the Road (WOTR) readers, fellow South Floridians, and all Americans, time for another monthly political assessment….with a bit of satire. Speaking of satire, I am writing this missive to you all from beautiful, sunny, cold, and snow packed Washington DC. I am here for the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) where I will have the distinct honor to speak.

Being here, I would almost postulate that DC has seen more snowfall recently than the Winter Olympics venue in Vancouver.

If we could just get President Obama and former Vice-President Al Gore to apologize to God reference “man-made global warming/climate change” perhaps we would not all be freezing, even in South Florida!

Coming to DC is always an experience because I always seek to find out what the politicians up here are drinking, so as to avoid.

Yesterday, Wednesday 17 was the anniversary of the “American Economic Recovery Act” legislation, better known as the Stimulus bill. I listened to the President and the pundits and just wondered, if we stimulated the economy, why is unemployment in Florida close to 12%?

Now today, I understand that the President is signing an Executive Order….how many is that now in first year….that establishes a panel to discuss how to reduce the deficit. LOL LOL LOL

Earth to President Obama, I can answer that, STOP SPENDING! Of course the President is lauded as being insightful, deliberative, and pragmatic. Heck, wish he had been those things a year ago before he tripled our national deficit and allowed the Nancy Pelosi Congress, and my good buddy Congressman Ron Klein, to vote for a $1.9T increase of our national debt, to $13T.

What is in the water up here?

That brings me to the topic of this month’s piece, “They’re Running”. In these last few weeks we have seen several members of the US Senate and House call it quits. Most recently Senator Evan Bayh and Representative Patrick Kennedy, a Kennedy, have said they have had enough. We have seen in Florida Senator Mel Martinez, Representative Robert Wexler, and Representative Lincoln Diaz-Balart all quit on their promise to serve the people. Why is it that all of a sudden these individuals are stepping down?

Simple answer, the American people are FINALLY starting to hold elected officials accountable and that is such an amazing paradigm change. The reelection rate for Congressional incumbents has always remained rather high in America, now they feel challenged, actually scared.

What angers me the most is that these individuals have brought us to the edge of the abyss and now walk away? They are completely complicit but yet find these inexcusable reasons for stepping down. I would prefer they all just said, “I have failed the American people”. However, that would require the very intangible ingredients missing in Washington DC; Honor, Integrity, and Character. As Plato warned, we are truly being governed by our inferiors, and in some cases criminals.

What should unhinge everyone who shall read this is that the American taxpayer will be providing a retirement salary to all these individuals, full 100%. It took me 22 years and a few trips into combat zones to earn a 55% retirement off my base pay. It takes a member in the Senate and House just 6 years to earn their full salary retirement for THE REST OF THEIR LIVES!

Therefore, realize that the inept, incompetent, and oft time corrupt individuals who granted themselves automatic pay raises, caused the economic morass in which we find ourselves, and quit to leave the American taxpayer holding the bill. This bill falls not only upon us but our children and grandchildren for this debt and deficit, and also to fund their retirement.

Why not quit, they have made for themselves the most excellent of schemes.

But there is another side of “They’re Running” and that is the solution, an awesome shift which we have not seen since post-World War II. That is the resurgence of former Military who are running for Federal level political office. It has truly become en vogue to mention that you have prior military service, as opposed to touting that you are a career politician and lawyer.

Groups like Combat Veterans for Congress and Iraq Veterans for Congress are thriving with close to 20 candidates out there, Senate and House. And of course, yours truly is counted in those ranks.

America is once again looking for those Men and Women who clearly understand the ideals and principles which made this Country great. Moreover, the American people are seeking those who have taken that special oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and bear true faith and allegiance to the same”…and have put their lives on the line to honor that oath.

America is turning to those who have a lineage of service, sacrifice, and commitment to that which is greater than them. Americans are rejecting the self-serving politician whose interests are no longer in alignment with that of the people.

However, let me issue a word of caution, test us and make sure we are indeed American Warriors and Patriots, not just former uniform wearers. This past Sunday I was appalled at the interview of National Security Advisor General James Jones, former Commandant of the US Marine Corps (and it is not pronounced corpse Mr President) by Chris Wallace of Fox News. I find individuals such as Representatives Patrick Murphy and Joe Sestak repulsive. Former Army Generals Colin Powell and Wesley Clark have lost all my respect and regard…therefore, never believe that having served in the Military gives a carte blanche, because even we have self-serving persons whose commitment may have been well intentioned at one time……but have lost their way.

This 2010 election cycle represents an impeccable awakening of the American people, regardless of what the mainstream media and liberal progressive pundits assert. It is an awakening causing the ruling class presumed intellectual elite politicians to run away.

However, based upon yesterday’s New York Times front page article, the left is already preparing for their assault on grassroots movements, Tea Party, in order to marginalize their influence. I offer them a word of caution; Americans are on to your game, hence why your viewing and reader subscriptions are faltering. It is funny to me that far left groups such as ACORN, Code Pink, SEIU, and anarchist groups can roam about freely spewing their venomous version of protest being applauded, while concerned Americans are attacked.

Finally, I know the liberal progressive political mantra is personal attacks aimed at character assassination, since they are unable to articulate principled solutions. When dealing with former Military combat Veterans running for office, stick to the issues….Congressman Ron Klein……because we are unlike your typical politician. We welcome an attack and we will fight back, as we always have done, to protect the Constitution of the United States and the American people.

It might be best for ole Ron Klein to run away as well.

Steadfast and Loyal!

Ron Paul and the Paulites at CPAC 2010 (video and pics)

CPAC 2010 had “The Paulites” swarming all over it and on Friday, Feb 19, two of those ” Paulites” introduced Ron Paul.

Observation: Ron Paul and his son , Rand, both support Adam Kokesh for Congress. However, Kokesh is  an IVAW , ANTI- military, ANTI-American protester who’s now pretending to be a Republican. How can Ron Paul be trusted as a Presidential candidate when his “judgement of character” is so flawed? (BTW - where was Adam Kokesh? If he represents ‘the REAL conservative”? Why not introduce Ron Paul?)
